Since June,
sea freight prices have experienced a new round of increase. MSK, CMA,
HPL and other leading shipping companies recently crazily issued notices
of price increases for their routes, covering multiple routes from Asia
to Europe, North America, South America, Africa, and more. This batch
of price increases has just begun to take effect, and a new batch of
price increase notices is coming to freight forwarders and shippers
CMA announced on its official website on June 4 that it will levy a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) from Asia to the United States starting from July 1, 2024 (loading date), valid until further notice.
The details are as follows:
From: Asia (including Chinese Mainland, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Macao, Southeast Asia, South Korea and Japan)
Destination Scope: United States
Goods: Dry cargo, refrigerated cargo, oversized cargo, and bulk cargo
Amount: $2160 per 20 foot container (all types), $2400 per 40 foot
container (including 40 foot containers, 40 foot high containers, and 40
foot refrigerated containers), $3040 per 45 foot container (all types),
and $3840 per 53 foot container (all types).
On the same day, CMA also announced that starting from June 7,
2024 (loading date), it will adjust the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) from
China to West Africa, which will be valid until further notice.
The details are as follows:
From: China
Destination range: the northern mountains of West Africa (Liberia,
Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, Cape
Verde, Sao Tome and Principe) and the southern mountains (Angola,
Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Namibia, Gabon, Cameroon)
Goods: Dry goods
Amount: $500/TEU
In
addition, on May 31, Dafei announced that from June 1 (the date of
loading), it would levy PSS on dry goods, cold vinegar goods, out of
gauge goods and bulk goods from Asia (including Chinese Mainland,
Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, Southeast
Asia, South Korea and Japan) to Reunion Island, with a specific amount
of $500/TEU
