Just now! Hussain armed forces are attacking two more cargo ships in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean! Is the situation escalating?

According to the News, on June 23 local time, Yehya Sareya, a military spokesperson for the Yemeni Husai armed forces, issued a statement stating that he had attacked the "Cross World Navigator" in the Red Sea with drones and the "Stott Red Giant" in the Indian Ocean with missiles.

The Hussai armed forces stated that the reason these two ships became targets was because the company that owns these two ships violated the decision to prohibit entry into Israeli ports.

According to the News Agency, a Yemeni government coast guard officer confirmed to Xinhua News Agency reporters on the 23rd that the cargo ship "Global Navigator", flying the Liberian flag, was attacked by armed forces in the early morning of the same day, and the ship was damaged with no casualties. The officer said that the cargo ship was attacked by missiles from the Houser armed forces while sailing in the Gulf of Aden on the 22nd.

After the outbreak of a new round of Palestinian Israeli conflict in October last year, the Yemeni Houthi armed forces repeatedly attacked targets in the Red Sea using drones and missiles. In early May, the Yemeni Houthi armed forces announced that they would expand their scope of attack, targeting all ships of companies that had traded with Israel in the past few months in the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean, and Mediterranean, regardless of their nationality and target ports.

Previously, Sarea had stated that the Hussai armed forces would continue to carry out related attacks and support the Palestinian people until the aggression against Palestine ceased and the blockade against the Palestinian people was lifted. Otherwise, the Hussai armed forces would not cease their military operations.

It is understood that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated in an interview with Israeli media on the 23rd that the "intense battle phase" between the Israeli military in the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is "very close to the end".

At present, the impact of the Red Sea crisis on the global shipping industry is still ongoing. As a shipping hub, the situation in the Red Sea directly affects container supply. Due to chain effects such as tight transportation capacity and port congestion, sea freight prices continue to soar. On June 21st, the Shanghai Shipping Exchange released the Shanghai Export Container Comprehensive Freight Index at 3475.60 points, an increase of 2.9% from the previous period.

Experts point out that if the situation in the Middle East continues to deteriorate, it will further intensify the pressure on global shipping supply chains, and risk spillovers will continue to push up freight rates.
