The "Dongming" ship, which experienced a container explosion, is of Liberian nationality and a transit vessel. It sailed from Shanghai to Jakarta, Indonesia, with a total of 20 crew members on board, all of whom were safe. The relevant departments have preliminarily determined that the explosives include tert butyl peroxybenzoate and lithium batteries.
According to the data, tert butyl peroxybenzoate is a colorless to slightly yellow liquid. Non toxic, belonging to flammable and explosive materials, it needs to be stored in a cool, ventilated environment and sealed. Keep away from sources of fire and heat, prevent direct sunlight, and keep the storage temperature below 30 ℃.
It is reported that the "YM Mobility" vessel is a subsidiary of Yangming Shipping. On the evening of August 9th, Yangming Shipping announced the preliminary investigation results:
A container containing dangerous goods on board exploded. According to the shipper's declaration, the container was used as a refrigerated container instead of a dry container and did not require any electrical connection.
At present, the fire has been brought under control and all personnel on board have safely evacuated.
This vessel is configured for the company's CGX route between the Far East and the Middle East.
