According to foreign media reports, the West Bengal Federation of Truck Operators announced a three-day strike in West Bengal from September 11th to 13th.
Routes such as Route 12 (NH12) and Route 19 (NH-19), as well as major intersections in major cities, may become key locations for gatherings. This strike is expected to affect the operation of trucks traveling to and from Kolkata Port.
Kolkata Port is a larger port in eastern India, also known as the "Jute Port" due to its main export of jute. It is the second largest port in India and one of the centers of the country's economy, transportation, and culture.
During the strike, there may be delays in the fulfillment of related orders and delivery of goods due to transportation disruptions.
Local road freight transportation will also be delayed, especially in the case of truck drivers blocking roads. Protesters may block roads or march alongside them, further disrupting local traffic.
Global freight forwarding giant Deutsche Bahn has issued a warning on its official website that the strike scheduled for September 11-13 is expected to cause serious delays in trucking operations, particularly affecting the transportation of goods at Kolkata Port and local areas.
